Are you as addicted to ChatGPT as me? I recently came across this repo, awesome-chatgpt-promptswhere there's a massive list of example prompts you can use to interact with GPT.
I noticed one called "Act as an interviewer" and thought I would adapt it so the 'interviewer' would ask me questions about a Geospatial Developer position.
Act as an Interviewer for a GeoDev position
I want you to act as an interviewer. I will be the candidate and you will ask me the interview questions for the Geospatial Developer position. I want you to only reply as the interviewer. Do not write all the conservation at once. I want you to only do the interview with me. Ask me the questions and wait for my answers. Do not write explanations. Ask me the questions one by one like an interviewer does and wait for my answers. My first sentence is "Hi"
The interview was insightful, and the questions and answers were high quality. For example, I asked the interviewer about professional opportunities, and GPT totally nailed it.
Sounds like a great place to work! I tried to get feedback at the end of the interview but just got a pat on the back.
Act as a Talent Coach for a Geospatial Developer
Next, I turned to a second prompt to get advice from a talent coach's perspective. The idea is not to be grilled in an interview but to bring insights into valuable skills and knowledge to succeed in your position.
I want you to act as a Talent Coach for interviews. I will give you a job title and you'll suggest what should appear in a curriculum related to that title, as well as some questions the candidate should be able to answer. My first job title is "Geospatial Developer".
Conclusion
Overall, I think it was a positive experience. GPT's follow-up questions and replies were realistic and helpful. GPT is a great (and currently free) way to get a personalized interviewing experience. It was also beneficial as a customized talent coach, giving insight into skills that will make a GeoDev more valuable in the job market. I am excited about AI's future, and it's off to a fantastic start!
